Arsenal fans on Twitter are annoyed at their players missing out on Alan Shearer’s Team of the Week.
As posted by the Premier League’s official Twitter account, Shearer named the likes of David de Gea in goal, N’Golo Kante and Oriol Romeu in midfield, Matty Cash as a right wing-back and two Chelsea players in a back three.
But the Arsenal fans think that either one of Aaron Ramsdale, Martin Odegaard, Gabriel and Takehiro Tomiyasu should have been picked.
Mikel Arteta’s side recorded a 1-0 win over Burnley over the weekend, with Odegaard scoring a stunning free-kick in the first half.
In his second game for the Gunners, Tomiyasu’s stock continued to rise, as he was dominant and athletic out at right-back for his new club.
And after replacing Bernd Leno in between the sticks, Ramsdale has now kept back-to-back clean sheets for the North London club.
Given that de Gea saved a stoppage-time penalty for Manchester United against West Ham then it’s probably difficult to dethrone him.
Although Tomiyasu, or even Gabriel, will feel they should have got a place in defence because they were both outstanding against an aggressive and direct Burnley side.
And given that it was Odegaard’s free-kick that was the difference, he will feel also unlucky to miss out.
Although Kante changed the game against Spurs and Romeu helped Southampton record a point and valuable clean sheet at Manchester City, so it’s hard getting in that midfield.
Nonetheless, here is a selection of Arsenal fans reacting to Shearer’s TOTW:
