Bukayo Saka has told Lions’ Den that he still doesn’t understand why Ben Chilwell was angry in England training recently.

Both the Arsenal and Chelsea duo were on opposing teams, with Saka getting fouled in a blatant fashion during the game by Kieran Trippier that resulted in a penalty being awarded.

As the camera was about to cut away, Chilwell can be seen booting the ball away in frustration.

It’s a reaction that made Saka chuckle quite a lot, as he stated that he still doesn’t understand why Chilwell, who didn’t even commit the foul, was so frustrated.

“That video kills me,” said Saka. “It was a foul (in training) and then Chilwell just booted the ball.

“At the time, I just booted the ball, so I didn’t see it. When I saw the video back then I couldn’t stop laughing. And I sent it to him, he was laughing as well.

“We have that banter. Me, Chilwell and Jack (Grealish). He didn’t take it too seriously, but I still don’t understand why he was that angry. We were beating them. Maybe that’s why.

“When I have asked him, he hasn’t given me a valid answer.”

Well, practice makes perfect because Saka, who was causing problems in training, took those qualities out on the pitch on Tuesday.

The Arsenal academy product produced a Man of the Match performance, as England beat the Czech Republic 1-0 during their final group game of Euro 2020.

Now, it’s time for the knockout stages and the visit of a certain opponent – the German’s.

Both Germany and England will lock horns at Wembley next Tuesday, and following Saka’s performance against the Czech’s, many will be hoping that Gareth Southgate sees sense and keeps him in the side.
