Barry Fry has admitted that the asking price for long-term Leeds United target Marcus Maddison has dropped.

However, Fry’s comments may just alert the Yorkshire side to Maddison’s availability.
“Reading have shown an interest in Marcus Maddison, but they haven’t made a bid yet. Marcus has some incredible stats, but we might not get the millions we originally expected for him,” Fry said.

Leeds have been long-term admirers of Maddison, as reported by Leeds Live.
Steve Evans, who is now in charge at Posh, was the first man to put Maddison on to Leeds’ radar, and they have been linked in almost every transfer window since.
Maddison is currently on the transfer list, due to an agreement that he would be made available if Posh failed to earn promotion over the past campaign.

If he was brought to Leeds, Maddison would be welcomed with open arms by the Elland Road crowd, who have been calling for him to be snapped up for a considerable amount of time.
Leeds are thought to have money to invest this summer, but they are yet to make their first signing, and it is rather baffling why Maddison hasn’t been targeted.
The Whites need to add more creativity and dynamism to their front line, and Maddison would surely be an upgrade on many members of their current first-team squad.
