‘Why have you tweeted this’: Some Arsenal fans fume at WhoScored’s Pepe tweet

Arsenal fans have defended Nicolas Pepe after a stat emerged about the forward.

WhoScored posted on their official Twitter account that the Arsenal speedster has ‘failed to create a single clear-cut goalscoring opportunity’ in the Premier League this season.

It’s a tweet that has been met with a barrage of anger and annoyance from the Arsenal faithful.

Whilst Pepe struggled last season, many feel he has improved vastly during this campaign and has produced some strong performances in recent weeks.

Added with that, the 25-year-old has five Premier League goals to his name, including one against Leicester at the weekend.

Plus, the Arsenal faithful tried to make it clear that Pepe winning a penalty should also be considered as a ‘clear-cut’ opportunity.

Last season, such a stat wouldn’t have perhaps been defended as much by the Arsenal faithful.
