Harry Redknapp has told Sky Sports News that he has been left absolutely baffled by Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho’s treatment of Dele Alli.
Alli has struggled badly for game time at Spurs this season, with Mourinho actually reportedly willing to sell him this month.
It was Daniel Levy who kept Alli at Spurs, according to the Daily Mail.
And Redknapp says that Mourinho needs to try harder to work with Alli and allow him to thrive at Spurs.
“Daniel knows he’s a good player, he’s a fantastic player and a young player – so why would you want to let him go,” Redknapp questioned.
“There’s a shortage of great young players, Pochettino knows him, why does he want to take him to PSG if he’s not a good player?
“Maybe he [Mourinho] needs to try harder, the boy is a talent – John Stones couldn’t get in the team at Manchester City, he’s on his way out, now he’s looking a fantastic player again.”
In fairness to Mourinho, he may well have chosen Alli in recent weeks if he had been fit.

However, the England international has not even been training with Spurs due to injury.
A return date on Alli’s problem has not yet been given, although Tottenham will surely hope he comes back sooner rather than later.
Mourinho’s side looked a blunt force going forward in their last game, as they drew a blank against Brighton & Hove Albion in a 1-0 defeat.
