The Premier League side have been linked with a move for the Manchester United forward, who could add vital goals and assists for the Toffees.
He was touted as one of the best young prospects in world football during his time at PSV Eindhoven, but since his transfer to Manchester United, Memphis Depay has become somewhat of a forgotten figure at Old Trafford.
With the likes of Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Antony Martial above him in the pecking order, Depay will reportedly be allowed to leave the Theatre of Dreams on loan in January, with Everton considering a loan bid, according to the Liverpool Echo.
Depay would be a fantastic addition to the Everton squad, should they pursue his signature, his pace and precision passing as well as his natural finishing ability would no doubt add valuable goals and assists for the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Ross Barkley, Gerard Deulofeu and Yannick Bolasie.

But, he would also allow manager Ronald Koeman a chance to tinker with his formation. Depay can operate on either flank, as well as playing off of the main striker and, should injuries occur to other players, can act as a number nine, having done so at times for PSV successfully.
Lukaku has made a sensational impact at Goodison Park and with Koeman adopting a passing game with free-flowing attacking football, Depay would allow the Dutchman to pick a more direct approach when playing the so-called ‘bigger teams.’ With his pinpoint crossing ability, the Toffees would be able to play deeper and hit teams on the counter-attack with pace, while the Netherlands international’s eye for a pass can split any defence open and can apply the crosses for which Lukaku can benefit from.
Koeman has tried to sign Depay in the past, whilst in charge of Southampton before he joined Manchester United. And would have been made aware of the 22-year-old’s progress whilst he was manager of PSV between 2006-2007, when Depay joined the youth ranks from Sparta Rotterdam.

Scoring goals could become a problem for Everton if star striker Lukaku gets injured during the second-half of the season, so it should not come as a surprise that Everton have been linked with another forward. The Belgian has seven of the Toffees’ 15 strikes in the Premier League so far with Barkley and Gareth Barry in joint-second place with two each.
Depay could, if given a lengthy run in the side, add the finishing touch for Koeman’s team having notched up an impressive career total of 57 goals in 175 appearances in all competitions so far in his career, despite several of those coming from the bench during his time at Old Trafford.
However, Jose Mourinho may change his mind and opt to keep the forward despite picking him just six times so far this term. Of course there is also the fact that Depay would not have to move from his current home, should he join the Toffees.
It is also yet to be seen whether Mourinho would allow such a prospect to help a rival club challenging at the top end of the Premier League table and Depay could be allowed to move abroad with the Liverpool Echo also claiming that Italian outfit Roma, are also interested.
