The Guardian suggest that Everton could be open to letting Gerard Deulofeu leave on a permanent transfer in January, but that may end up being a mistake if Ronald Koeman goes through with it.
There is no doubt that Deulofeu has been off the pace since Koeman arrived at Goodison Park.
The Spaniard has contributed just one assist all campaign, and he has failed to score.
However, Deulofeu has shown before just how much talent he has, and Everton could be letting go of a future star if they get rid of the 21-year-old so early on in his career.
Deulofeu showed glimpses of quality last term, when his link-up with Romelu Lukaku was very effective.
And although the youngster hasn’t pushed on to fulfil his talent yet, his ability in possession is unquestionable.
Deulofeu has a valuable match winning quality, when on the top of his game, and his dribbling skill makes him an attacking weapon who should be sought after.
If Everton really want to allow Deulofeu to leave in January, they should only be sanctioning a loan bid, as they run the risk of letting a future star leave Goodison Park far too early on in their career, if they accept a permanent transfer.
