Donald Trump used New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart to make a pointed argument about women’s sports, turning the rookie’s size and strength into the center of his example.
Dart has already found himself pulled into a political spotlight after appearing with Trump at a public event. The Giants quarterback later said he was showing respect for the office of the president, but the moment has continued to follow him.
Trump’s latest comments kept that attention alive. He described a private exchange with Dart and used it to underline a familiar part of his sports argument.

Donald Trump uses Jaxson Dart to make New York Giants point on women’s sports
Fox News shared Donald Trump’s comments on Jaxson Dart, with the president saying the New York Giants quarterback would dominate if placed in women’s sports.
“We had the quarterback Jaxson, who is the QB for the Giants. He’s a big, strong guy, and I said, ‘how do you think you’d do it in women’s sports?'” Trump said.
He added, “And he said, ‘Pretty good, sir.’ He didn’t know I was joking. He was not worried. He would have been the greatest athlete in the history of women’s sports.”
The remark was meant to support Trump’s broader stance against biological males competing in female categories. Dart became the example because of his build, his NFL role, and the visibility he has gained since becoming part of the Giants’ future.
The joke also placed Dart in a difficult position. He was being praised by Trump, but in a way that tied him directly to one of the most divisive debates in sports.
Donald Trump and Jaxson Dart’s link keeps New York Giants quarterback in the spotlight
Dart became a Giants quarterback after New York traded back into the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft and selected him at No. 25 overall. His development is now one of the franchise’s biggest stories, but his connection with Trump has created another layer of attention.
The controversy grew after Dart introduced Trump at a rally in Suffern, New York. Trump later defended him from criticism, while Dart explained that his appearance was about respecting the office because of his family’s military background.
That context is why Trump’s women’s sports comment did not arrive in isolation. Dart had already become part of a larger political conversation, and Trump used him again because the Giants quarterback offered an easy physical contrast for the point he wanted to make.
Dart’s football future will be judged by how he plays for the Giants, not by one political exchange. For now, though, Trump’s comments have made sure his name remains attached to a debate far beyond the NFL field.
