Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has given reporters his opinion on FC Barcelona’s interest in Raheem Sterling.
Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan coach claimed that Barcelona have the power to attract any City player if they wanted to sign them, including Sterling.
The England international has been linked with both Barca and Real Madrid in the past few months. With Sterling’s future at City looking doubtful after a poor start to the season.
The 26-year-old, who signed for City in 2015 for £49m, has lost his place in the starting XI with Gabriel Jesus starting out on the wing and Jack Grealish taking up the other wide-attacking role.
Indeed, there is a chance that Sterling could leave Manchester in the coming months. However, City will likely demand a hefty transfer fee for the former Liverpool star.
And given Barcelona’s abysmal financial position, it is unlikely that the La Liga side will be able to afford Sterling. And City fans are keen to keep hold of the winger.
