Nottingham Forest caretaker boss Gary Brazil has infuriated Reds fans after his tactics arguably cost them the match in their 3-2 loss to Brentford, with the stand-in manager amazingly choosing to drop Zach Clough despite his heroics at the weekend.
22-year-old Clough, who signed for Forest in the January transfer window, bagged a brace as the Reds surprisingly defeated Brighton and Hove Albion 3-0, but apparently, that wasn’t enough to warrant a start against the Bees.
As a result, striker Britt Assombalonga was completely isolated up front, allowing Brentford to run riot on the counter attack, which they did successfully on three occasions.
It was no great shock that when Clough eventually did make the field of play, he turned the game on its head. Clough had a huge hand in the first goal – scored by Ben Brereton – and got the second himself, with a brilliantly taken header.

Clough now has three goals in two substitute appearances, and with Jamie Ward picking up a two-match suspension for racking up 10 yellow cards, Brazil has absolutely no reason to drop Clough again.
Forest have a relegation six-pointer at the weekend against Burton Albion, and if Clough finds himself on the bench again and if the Reds lose, there will be more than outrage amongst the fans.
