West Ham United should have made a deadline day swoop for Aaaron Mooy.

West Ham United may have missed a trick by not going for Aaron Mooy yesterday.
Mooy ended up moving to Brighton & Hove Albion in a loan deal from Huddersfield Town, and that transfer could have been perfect for West Ham.
The Hammers were operating on a limited budget heading into deadline day, but ended up spending their remaining funds on signing Albian Ateji to strengthen their attack.
West Ham’s summer spending has largely focused on improving their forward options, and they have done so excellently.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side have brought in Sebastian Haller and Pablo Fornals, who should enhance the goalscoring output of the team.
However, if there is one question that remains, it is West Ham’s defensive midfield options.

While Declan Rice is a brilliant operator, there are question marks over Mark Noble’s mobility and Jack Wilshere’s ability to screen a defence.
Mooy, on the other hand, would have had the quality to protect West Ham’s defence if played alongside Rice in the middle of the pitch.
And on a loan deal, the £10 million midfielder (BBC Sport) could have been the perfect addition to West Ham’s squad.
