‘Why didn’t we sign’: Some Arsenal react to 25-year-old’s display v Spurs last night

Arsenal fans on Twitter were impressed with David Raya’s performance for Brentford on Tuesday night after they were knocked out of the League Cup semi-final’s by Tottenham.

Whilst the Championship side will be disappointed to exit the competition, they have done pretty well to reach their first ever semi-final and Raya, who could have joined Arsenal, played a big part in that.

Raya is Brentford’s number two and in the summer it was well-documented that Arsenal wanted to secure his services.

A deal didn’t materialise for the 25-year-old, with those in the Arsenal boardroom signing Alex Runarsson as Emi Martinez’s replacement instead.

It’s fair to say that some Arsenal supporters are questioning why they didn’t sign the Brentford man instead.

The Arsenal faithful liked what they saw from Raya, both from his shot-stopping and his ability to play out from the back.

Well, the Arsenal fans will be pleased to hear that Raya could still be their player because they could make a move for him in the summer of 2021, according to the Telegraph.
