Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has suggested his side have a similar budget to Everton.

Pochettino went on record to suggest that Tottenham and Everton currently have very similar budgets to spend.
Spurs were clearly in the market for a central midfielder in the summer, but they failed to find an appropriate target.
And it must, therefore, be questioned why they didn’t make a bid for Gomes.
But Everton managed to sign Gomes on loan from Barcelona unopposed, and the Portuguese midfielder has been a revelation in the Premier League.

Gomes has been Everton’s star man over recent weeks, and he looks to be perfectly at home in England.
The Barca man could have been a wonderful addition to Spurs’ midfield, and offered them great composure and poise, if Pochettino’s side had made an offer.
However Tottenham, rather bafflingly, didn’t make a bid and they must be regretting that decision now.
