Why Dicko and Bodvarsson are destined to succeed together at Wolves

Despite a bad run of results in the last few weeks there is room for optimism at Molineux – especially with the strike force they have at their disposal.

There is no doubting that there has been a certain sense of dread surrounding Molineux in the last few weeks following an inconsistent run of results. Just two wins in ten games is hardly reassuring for new manager Walter Zenga, and some supporters are still calling for his head.

However, what they need to remember is that this is a process and it will take time – just like the partnership between Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Nouha Dicko.

The Wolves faithful were salivating at the prospect of these two playing together once Dicko returned, but the thing they need to remember is that the forward is not fully fit yet. He is still on his way back to his best which is natural given the nature of his injury.

Together, there is no doubt they will succeed. Both men thrive off of good support and are equally great at holding the ball up, meaning that they can feed off of one another because their sheer strength is too much for defences to handle.

Also, you cannot underestimate the actual speed of both men. Some people will say there needs to be two strikers who have varied abilities, but the little and large combination of these two will work perfectly given the nature of how they play.

We’ve seen what Dicko can do with someone like Benik Afobe, and Bodvarsson is even stronger and seems much more committed than Afobe ever did – especially towards the end of his Wolves tenure. If fans give this partnership time, it can really flourish.
