Alan Brazil slammed Daniel Levy for publicly sharing that Tottenham Hotspur have inserted a buy-back clause in Harry Kane’s Bayern Munich contract.

The former striker and now-talkSPORT presenter couldn’t understand why Daniel Levy would come out with such a statement if ‘you aren’t going to tell them when it is’, as he told talkSPORT Breakfast (20/09/23 at 6:25 am).

Harry Kane left Tottenham this summer and joined German giants Bayern Munich, in order to increase his chances of winning trophies in his goal-crazy career.

Whilst Daniel Levy was able to hold off past interest in Harry Kane’s talents, he couldn’t do it this time around because his contract had 12 months left to run.

There was initial anger and frustration from supporters when the club’s all-time record goalscorer was allowed to leave.

But that has probably been dampened down now that Ange Postecoglou has got Spurs off to a flying start.

Daniel Levy’s Harry Kane admission

“Why come out with that if you aren’t going to tell them when it is?” asked Brazil. “What if he (Kane) loves it and stays five years?

“What if Tottenham go backwards? At the moment, under Ange, they are doing well. What if they don’t win anything? He might like the Black Forest down there. His family might enjoy it, so don’t try to summarise it.

“And what if Haaland leaves? Does he go to Manchester City or Manchester United? Or Spurs?”

Life after Harry Kane

One of the first things that was thrown Spurs’ way as Kane headed for the exit door was the question of ‘where will the goals come from?’

Well, rather than an individual stepping up, the whole team as a collective are sticking their chests out and taking responsibility.

Yes, it’s still early days, but, for once, Spurs will be heading into the north London derby on Sunday full of hope and serious belief that they can get something from the game.
