It is widely accepted that Celtic have a significantly better squad than Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers, but why can’t Pedro Caixinha’s arrival change that?

Before the start of the current season, most Celtic fans would have suggested that the likes of Stuart Armstrong and James Forrest stood little chance of ever enjoying success at Parkhead after previously struggling under former Hoops boss Ronny Deila.
However, since the arrival of Brendan Rodgers last summer, the pair have come on leaps and bounds and have arguably been two of the Bhoys’ key men in a campaign that threatens to deliver a huge amount of success.
One of the key reasons for their dominance is the fact that their Old Firm rivals Rangers do not have a squad good enough to mount a serious title challenge over the course of the season.
But what if new Gers boss Pedro Caixinha takes a page from Rodgers’ book and proves that the Gers are actually a lot better than what they have shown this season?
There have been a number of players within Rangers’ squad who the fans, right now, would not mind seeing the back of in the summer based on their form this term, but perhaps Caixinha and his coaching staff can turn them into the Gers’ own Armstrong and Forrest.
The draw with the Hoops at the weekend showed that a number of the players can elevate their game to a level they have barely shown this season. So perhaps for some of them, Caixinha’s ideas and tactics may be exactly what they need to help them rediscover that form on a more regular basis.
And if they can uncover a few gems in the transfer market like Rodgers did with Moussa Dembele, then perhaps that gap between the two clubs will be considerably smaller this time next year.
