Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is said to be interested in bringing Nottingham Forest midfielder Henri Lansbury to Glasgow.
According to the Daily Record, Celtic are hoping to sign Nottingham Forest’s Henri Lansbury – and if they are able to complete a deal it would highlight the Glasgow side’s astuteness in the transfer window once again.
Celtic do not have the financial wealth to compete with English clubs, so they have to shop around for bargains.
The Bhoys did brilliantly to sign both Scott Sinclair and Moussa Dembele last summer – and the pair are now already worth significantly more than what Brendan Rodgers’ side paid for them.

If Celtic can complete a deal for Lansbury, he could be yet another low risk gamble which could pay off massively.
Lansbury’s contract at Forest is due to expire at the end of the season. Celtic could now either attempt to sign the central midfielder on a cut-price deal, or offer him a pre-contract in January and get him on a free.
At the moment, Forest are said to be looking to receive around £3 million for Lansbury due to their weak bargaining position- and, put simply, he is already worth considerably more than that.
Lansbury is a standout player at Championship level, and he would have the potential to be one of the best players in Scotland if he was to move to Celtic.

The former Arsenal midfielder has scored six goals in 19 appearances for the Reds so far this campaign, and he would add a lot to Celtic’s midfield ranks.
Lansbury is not only combative, but he also has a goalscoring instinct which would make him highly valuable for Rodgers.
If Celtic do sign Lansbury, over the long-term they would be almost guaranteed to make a profit, and he would also immediately improve the quality of their first-team squad.
