Celtic should attempt to snap up Sheffield Wednesday’s Fernando Forestieri, after he potentially becomes available.

According to a report in the Sheffield Star, Fernando Forestieri has had a falling out with Sam Winnall in Sheffield Wednesday training, which has plunged his future at Hillsborough into doubt.

Winnall was dropped from Wednesday’s squad for their match against Queens Park Rangers at the weekend, leaving doubts over his future with the Owls.

And Celtic should capitalise on the uncertainty around Forestieri and bring him to Glasgow.

Brendan Rodgers has been looking to strengthen Celtic’s attack, with a new number 10 high up on his shopping list.

And Forestieri could tick all the boxes of what Rodgers is looking for at Celtic.

The Argentine is blessed with a wonderful ability in possession, and his low centre of gravity makes him a nightmare for defenders to mark.

Forestieri can drift round opponents, or simply burst beyond them – and he is regarded as one of the most dangerous players in the Championship.

At Celtic, he could be offered a great deal of creative freedom and with such attacking licence he could thrive.

Celtic would have to pay a considerable amount to sign Forestieri from Wednesday, but now that a deal appears possible, the Bhoys should place the 27-year-old right near the top of their transfer wishlist.
