Brendan Rodgers Celtic side should considering making a move for Carl Jenkinson, who Arsenal have made available.

According to a report in the Daily Telegraph, Arsenal could be willing to sell Carl Jenkinson this summer and a move to Celtic could be ideal for all parties.

Jenkinson’s career has stalled over recent times, with the right-back finding it difficult to break into Arsenal’s team.

Jenkinson made just five appearances for the Gunners last term, and he has been sent on a series of loan moves over recent times.

The former Charlton man has been on spells at West Ham United, and he has generally impressed whenever given a run of games.

However, Arsene Wenger no longer feels that he can give Jenkinson action at the Emirates Stadium and has put him up for sale.

Jenkinson will now be looking for a new club and Brendan Rodgers should seriously consider giving him the option to move to Glasgow.

At the age of 25 Jenkinson still has time to fulfil his potential, and Celtic could be the perfect place for him to develop.

Rodgers has already helped a number of young players to progress throughout his career, and if he could do the same with Jenkinson then Celtic could have a very talented player on their books.

It was not too long ago that Jenkinson was capped for England, and the feeling was that he could go on to become one of the best right-backs in the Premier League.

Celtic currently have Mikael Lustig available to play on the right hand side of their defence, but he is getting older – and Jenkinson could be the Swede’s long-term replacement at Parkhead.
