With such a strong start to the season under their belts, Brighton & Hove Albion look destined for promotion.

Over the last few years there has been a great deal of media talk when it comes to Brighton & Hove Albion’s promotion potential. The spotlight has been heavily shone on them in a similar way to Derby County, and with both sides it appears to have got the better of them. Now, however, the club looks poised to finally make that last step up to the promised land.

First off, that lack of aforementioned pressure is huge for them. With the inclusion of Aston Villa, Norwich City and Newcastle United this season everyone’s eyes appear to have diverted away from the Seagulls. This allows them to stay under the radar, build some momentum and really make their impact.

Next up there’s Chris Hughton. For a man so criminally underrated, he never seems to let anything get to him. Wherever the 57-year-old has gone he has brought some form of progress or success, and alot of that can be attributed to his attitude. The Englishman gets his head down, does not get drawn into mind games and focuses on the task at hand.

Then you have the defensive capabilities of this team. Both home and away Brighton continually manage to keep out the opposition with a thoroughly impressive five clean sheets in their last seven games to prove it.

Hughton has put together a group of players who fight for each other, the game and the fans. That spirit is essential when it comes to a promotion charge, and they appear to have mastered it.

Finally, you just need to look at the way supporters have rallied behind them. In recent months home games have been louder than they ever have been before, and with just two losses to their name so far this campaign consistency is something they are not going to struggle with.
