The entire situation surrounding Cameron Borthwick-Jackson will only serve to improve Wolverhampton Wanderers’ image.
It’s been a solid few days for Wolverhampton Wanderers, with the Midlands club defying their poor cup record to defeat Premier League side Stoke City 2-0. With a potential trip to Anfield in the next round, things are looking up for a side that were once deemed to be “doomed” by a lot of fans and critics alike.
However, one point of interest that has been making headlines has been the supposedly poor treatment of Cameron Borthwick-Jackson by the club. With Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho denying Wolves the chance to loan a back-up goalkeeper as reported by The Telegraph, many were confused as to the veteran manager’s reasons behind the decision.

It turns out he wasn’t happy with how little playing time Borthwick-Jackson was getting, however if he actually watched the highlights week in and week out, the former Champions League winner would see that the youngster hadn’t been performing all too well. In fact, it seemed as if the physicality of the Championship was all a bit too much for the on-loan United defender.

With the 19-year-old having now been recalled to Old Trafford as reported by Metro, it seems as if Wolves didn’t really do much wrong.
They gave him a chance to prove himself on a lower stage than he would be performing at with the Red Devils, and it seems to be Mourinho that has been making all of the headlines regarding this situation.
Then again, perhaps the constant chopping and changing at Molineux was seen as unnecessary by the former Chelsea boss given that Borthwick-Jackson may have been given certain promises in terms of playing time. Nonetheless, it’s an interesting scenario.
