Arsenal will wear an all-white kit at home to Liverpool in the FA Cup this weekend as part of the Emirates Stadium team’s campaign with Adidas which tackles knife crime.
It will be the first time that the Gunners adopt an all-white kit for a home fixture when Mikel Arteta’s side faces Jurgen Klopp’s team. Arsenal host Liverpool in north London this Sunday in the third round of the FA Cup. It is the clubs’ first encounter in the tournament since 2014.
Arsenal have now announced that the Emirates Stadium natives will wear the all-white kit at home to Liverpool. It is the third season in succession that Arteta’s side will have adopted an all-white strip for their first FA Cup tie. Arsenal’s women’s team will also adopt one this year.
Arsenal will wear an all-white Adidas kit in the FA Cup vs Liverpool
The Arsenal women’s team will follow the men’s side by wearing the all-white as they meet Watford in the FA Cup fourth round on January 14. Adidas first designed an all-white kit for the Gunners’ men’s side in 2022 for their third-round FA Cup tie against Nottingham Forest.
Adidas, again, designed an all-white kit for Arsenal’s FA Cup third-round tie at Oxford United in 2023. But the Reds and U’s affairs were both on the road. So, this weekend’s encounter at home to Liverpool will mark the first time that Arsenal wear an all-white kit at the Emirates.
Arsenal have a mixed record playing in an all-white kit as part of the No More Red campaign with Adidas. Nottingham Forest beat the Gunners 1-0 whilst still a Championship team back in 2022. But Mohamed Elneny and an Eddie Nketiah brace took a 3-0 win at Oxford in 2023.
Why will Mikel Arteta’s side face Jurgen Klopp’s team in a white kit?
Arsenal and Adidas came together in 2022 to launch the No More Red campaign which sees Arteta’s side play in an all-white kit. The Gunners and German sportswear giants launched it to further the club’s long-standing work designed at tackling knife crime and youth violence.
The name of the campaign symbolises Arsenal draining their kit of the club’s traditional red colour. Arsenal and Adidas have not and never will make the all-white kit available to buy, as well. But a bespoke community t-shirt will be available to purchase for £30 from January 29.
Arsenal and Adidas are also committed to donating 100% of the retail price of the t-shirt to 10 charities. The No More Red Charity Partners will get an equal part of all funds the t-shirt designed by Nellie-Rose to celebrate Arsenal as a place of diversity and togetherness raises.
