It is felt that Spurs want Sakai due to the height he offers, but Meunier has all the same qualities and looks like a far better option.
The PSG man is up for sale this summer for just £25 million, according to the Daily Mail, as he only has a year remaining on his contract.
Meunier seems to have everything that Tottenham need to strengthen their defence.
He is tall, solid defensively and has a happy knack of scoring despite his deep starting position.
Meunier would clearly be an upgrade on Kieran Trippier, and it is shocking that Pochettino’s men haven’t already made moves to bring in the Belgian international, given his apparent availability.
