Everton were heavily linked with Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi in the early part of the transfer window.

At the start of the January transfer window few players were in the media quite as much as Steven N’Zonzi.
The Sevilla midfielder was all set to move away from Spain, with a whole host of English teams interested.
Everton, Arsenal and West Ham were both linked with the French midfielder, in the Daily Mirror, but all of a sudden those rumours have gone cold.

N’Zonzi is now in danger of being left in limbo at Sevilla, with his future very much up in the air.
The 29-year-old has featured in just two of Sevilla’s last seven matches, and with the rumours going quiet, now could be the perfect time to strike for the Toffees.

West Ham are set to sign Joao Mario, Arsenal appear to be pursuing strikers following Alexis Sanchez’s departure and that means Everton could have a clear run to sign N’Zonzi if they do move now.
Everton’s additions so far have strengthen their attack, but N’Zonzi could add more steel to Sam Allardyce’s midfield options if he was to arrive at Goodison Park.
