Jordon Mutch is set to leave Crystal Palace on loan before the transfer window closes after being deemed surplus to requirements at the South London club, reports Sky Sports.
The Championship looks likely to be Mutch’s next destination, with Bristol City and Burton Albion the leading candidates for the midfielder’s signature.

Yet while the 25-year-old has struggled for form and game time over the past 12 months – being sent to Reading on loan in January – he still has plenty of experience at Premier League level and in the second tier and potentially a lot to offer.
Which begs the question why Birmingham City aren’t in the hunt? Especially as they are clearly looking to recruit in central midfield with the Birmingham Mail claiming Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere and Alex Song of Rubin Kazan are both on the radar.

The former England Under-21 international came through the ranks at St Andrew’s and played 36 times for the Blues before joining Cardiff City in the summer of 2012; helping them to the title and promotion to the top flight in his first season.
Mutch was also a regular fixture for both QPR and Palace in the top tier before falling out of favour at the latter and with the versatility to play almost anywhere in the middle, it is surprising Birmingham manager Harry Redknapp hasn’t taken a closer look.
