Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino was said to be interested in Youcel Atal earlier this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur should launch a last minute bid for Youcel Atal, as he could well be the most important addition they could make now.
Since those links have been quiet, with Tottenham seemingly focused on adding more creativity.
Spurs have been heavily linked with both Giovani Lo Celso and Bruno Fernandes recently, but Atal’s arrival could be even more important.
With Juan Foyth picking up an injury and Kieran Trippier departing, Spurs’s options look so short at right-back.
Kyle Walker-Peters, who is largely untested, and Serge Aurier, who has never looked consistent since joining, are Pochettino’s only choices in the position as things stand.
It is a clear area of weakness in Tottenham’s squad but Atal would solve the problem.

The Algerian international is one of Europe’s top dribblers, but he is also very solid defensively, and he would be a wonderful addition to Spurs’s team.
The signings of Lo Celso and Fernandes are hugely exciting, but if Christian Eriksen stays, Spurs are actually fairly well stocked in attacking midfield, with the likes of Dele Alli and Erik Lamela also able to play there.
It is, therefore, rather confusing why Tottenham do not seem to be making a move for a right-back, especially as Atal looks to be just what they need right now.
