The young forward has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
According to a report from Calcio Mercato, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Inter Milan teenager Andrea Pinamonti, and the 17-year-old would be the perfect addition for Spurs at this time.
With Harry Kane the undisputed first-choice striker at White Hart Lane and Vincent Janssen the current – albeit underperforming – understudy, Tottenham do not need another ready-made forward clamouring for regular starts.
When you consider the goal-scoring form of Dele Alli and the presence of Heung-min Son, what Tottenham need right now is a young striker who is ready to step up but who is also willing to bide their time from the bench.
With Aramide Oteh, Ryan Loft and Shayon Harrison all heading out on loan this month, and with Reo Griffiths and Kazaiah Sterling still learning their trade with Tottenham’s under-18s and under-23s, the North London club could do with a player who would represent the middle ground: a young striker scoring for fun at lower levels ready to make the next step in his career.
Pinamonti appears to be that player, having scored 10 goals in 14 matches for Inter’s under-17 side and 22 in 36 matches for their under-19s.
Such is his form at lower levels that he has been granted his debut for the senior team and the prospect of joining Tottenham as their third-choice striker could be one too tantalising to ignore.
Some fans may question the wisdom of putting faith in one so young, but few players have the innate ability in front of goal that Pinamonti possesses and he would be a risk well worth taking by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.
