Miami Heat’s Bam Adebayo and Las Vegas Aces’ A’ja Wilson are the power couple of basketball.

On one hand, Bam Adebayo is the leader of the Miami Heat by being a menace on both ends of the floor.

On the other hand, A’ja Wilson is the current best WNBA player. After all, she finished the 2025 season with her fourth WNBA MVP and third WNBA Defensive Player of the Year.

In light of that, Wilson recently sat down for an exclusive interview with TIME magazine, where she shared a unique interaction with Adebayo.

A’ja Wilson wants Bam Adebayo to be like a WNBA player during their practice sessions

Being in a relationship with one of the best defenders of the NBA has its own benefits. One of them is Adebayo helping Wilson train.

The 6’9″ Heat center often acts as a defender when Wilson practices her shots in training sessions. However, she has to remind the Heat star about not overdoing it.

“I’m just like, ‘No one in our league can do that. ’Well, me, maybe. I get mad at times because I’m just like, ‘OK, now be a WNBA player. Don’t do that,'” Wilson said.

The reigning WNBA MVP made the comment in the context of Adebayo using his incredible length and lateral quickness to block her shots.

While Wilson praised Adebayo’s terrific defensive prowess, the Heat star seemed offended by one omission.

“She failed to mention that I’ll block that s__ into the second row,” Adebayo hilariously added.

But at the end of the day, training with each other only makes them both better at the game of basketball.

“We make each other better. We sharpen each other’s skills. That’s kind of what makes us go. The gym is a happy place,” Wilson concluded.

The two basketball stars’ mutual practice sessions seem to be doing the trick, especially since they are in the primes of their careers.
