Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the Real Madrid player.

Real Madrid's Isco in action

Another day, another potential new signing linked with Tottenham Hotspur, but this time it is one to really excite the Spurs faithful.

According to a report from the Mirror, Tottenham are eyeing a loan deal for Real Madrid play-maker Isco, with White Hart Lane his most likely destination and the option of a permanent move next summer if all goes well in the interim.

Tottenham fans will be forgiven for keeping any potential excitement under wraps, with a number of potential deals failing to materialise thus far. However Isco is a realistic target who would also significantly strengthen their attacking options.

Once regarded as one of the most exciting young players in Spain, Isco’s move from Malaga to Real has not gone according to plan. That said he has still racked up 151 appearances, scoring 22 goals and providing 35 assists in the process.

Moving to a club where he can start week in, week out would certainly be a step in the right direction, as would signing for a manager who would embrace his style of play.

Isco is a superstar in the making; a player with innate talent and the desire to succeed after a spell at Real that, while not a disaster, has not been the considerable success he would have been hoping for.

Still only 24, Isco would represent a coup in a summer full of them for Premier League clubs. He fits Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy’s transfer model, has a point to prove and would add guile, creativity and a fresh edge to the North London club as they look to take another step up.
