He may only be available in a temporary deal but that does not mean Leeds United should look elsewhere.
According to a report from Sigma Live, Chievo are unwilling to sell young forward Caleb Ekuban this summer, instead wishing to send the alleged Leeds United target out on loan, but as there is no guarantee he would excel in English football, a temporary move would be best for all concerned.
As reported by Ghana Soccernet earlier this month, Leeds are interested in bringing the 23-year-old to Elland Road, and the Whites have not been averse to loan deals in recent seasons, with some proving more successful than others.
Pontus Jansson’s loan move proves there is value in the market
For every Pontus Jansson there has been a Granddi Ngoyi, for every Kyle Bartley an Edgar Cani, but Leeds may be wise not to risk a permanent signing when Ekuban has been filling his boots in Albania this season.
18 goals and five assists in 42 matches for FK Partizani is an impressive return yet there is no guarantee Ekuban could replicate that form in the Championship.
Marcus Antonsson arrived at Leeds with a big reputation in Sweden, however he has struggled for goals and latterly chances, so signing Ekuban for a single season would at least allow Leeds to see what he is capable of.

The problem for Leeds is their lack of a manager; an issue owner Andrea Radrizzani must address sooner rather than later.
But if new director of football Victor Orta wants to beat any rivals to the punch for Ekuban, he may be wise to take him on loan ensuring there is little to lose with such an agreement.
