Brendan Rodgers won’t be bringing Henry Onyekuru to Celtic Park it seems, although Leeds United may be in luck.
According to the Daily Record, Celtic have had a bid turned down for Eupen forward Henry Onyekuru – but Leeds United may stand a better chance.
Allow us to explain…
Eupen are owned by Qatar-based youth academy Aspire, and it is they who are said to have blocked Celtic’s approach for Onyekuru – scorer of 12 goals, creator of six, in Belgium this season.

More specifically, the man reportedly responsible for snubbing the Bhoys is none other than former Real Madrid strategist Ivan Bravo, whose name should ring a bell to those of a Leeds persuasion.
Only last month, Bravo, who is currently employed as Aspire’s director general, was said by the Daily Mail to be in talks over a move to Elland Road as Whites sporting director.

Though that particular trail appears to have gone cold in recent weeks, there is seemingly little to suggest that a deal is in fact off.
And were Bravo to head to Leeds in the near future, Onyekuru may be one of the first names on his list.
The Nigerian teenager, who can play on either flank as well as up front, is said to have caught the eye of a string of top clubs as well as Celtic since his move to Belgium in 2015 – although Bravo’s influence could yet determine the player’s future.
Is Onyekuru a player Leeds should be looking at?
