Paul Scholes has claimed that whoever wins the meeting between Manchester City and Liverpool will win the title, as he told Premier League Productions (06/03/22 at 7:05 pm).

Liverpool are currently six points behind the leaders, with a game in hand, as the duo will lock horns at the Etihad on April 10.

Given that the Reds have a better goal difference than Pep Guardiola’s side, at this moment in time, if they continue in this current form leading up to that game, then they will overtake them in the table.

But it’s a pretty tough task beating this Manchester City side that have proven you have to get 90+ points in order to beat them to English football’s most coveted prize.

Either way, Scholes thinks the winner of next month’s fixture will go on to win their remaining matches and take the title home with them.

“I think, whoever wins that game, they will win the Premier League,” said Scholes.

“I think they will win every other game (from the Etihad meeting onwards).”

Many will still be backing Man City to do the business because of how they have dominated over the years.

But this Liverpool side are riding a wave and they have been helped by a number of things.

Virgil van Dijk, after returning from his long-term injury this season, is now back to his best and also getting the best out of those around him.

That League Cup final win over Chelsea has added even more confidence to the camp and the introduction of Luis Diaz has elevated this Liverpool forward line even further.
