Who plays in the Community Shield if a team wins the double? Many – including Arsenal fans – have been keen to know as Manchester City target the treble.
The Community Shield usually sees the Premier League champions face off against the winners of the FA Cup at Wembley in what is a traditional curtain raiser for the new campaign.

Well, whoever finishes second in the Premier League will take on Manchester City if Pep Guardiola‘s side go on to become champions and also beat Manchester United in the FA Cup final.
That means Arsenal are likely to be involved in the Community Shield at Wembley in August if they fail to beat the Citizens to the Premier League title and finish second.

As things stand, the Gunners are two points ahead of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.
However, Guardiola’s men have two games in hand over Mikel Arteta’s side, so they will go four points clear if they manage to win both of those clashes.
Not that it concerns the Community Shield, but Manchester City could also get their hands on the Champions League to secure a historic treble, should they overcome Real Madrid in the semi-final and defeat either AC Milan or Inter Milan in the final.
The Citizens are hitting top gear at just the right time, and if they continue to win at this rate, the Community Shield in August will merely be a celebration of their efforts.
Imagine Arsenal being Manchester City’s opponent on the day as they wheel out three pieces of silverware to show off – it would be a tough afternoon for the Gunners, to say the least.
