Yaya Toure tops the list with more accurate passes than any other player last season, which is fitting considering Manchester City won the Premier League title.

The key characteristics linked to Toure’s game are based around pace and power but in this case he showed good touch when City were forced to play a more patient build up and passing game.

It shouldn’t be a major surprise to see an Arsenal player second on the list considering the passing game that Arsene Wenger likes his team to play.

Arteta protects the ball well in a holding midfield role, using his solid technique to get the better in that area over having a more aggressive defensive game.

Liverpool’s captain also deserves a big mention because he was arguably the most complete midfielder last season.

He dropped into a deeper role when Brendan Rodgers asked him to and he pushed forward to support the attack in the same way he has done throughout his Liverpool career.
