Tiger Woods has been around that long that he’s probably played in more pro-am events than some players do PGA Tour events in their careers.

Woods is the cream of the crop really for those amateurs and celebrities who rock up to events for the pro-ams.

Put simply, if you were playing in a pro-am while Woods was in his prime, then he was THE golfer you wanted to end up being paired up with for your round.

Over the years, Woods has seen some outstanding and not so outstanding golfers take to the fairways.

But just who were the very best ‘celebs’ he ever witnessed swing a golf club?

Tiger Woods’ best celebrity golfers

Luckily for us in the age of social media, these sorts of question are not uncommon for most golfers.

When it came to Tiger Woods being asked back in 2022 who the best fourball was he ever played with, he stuck with a very baseball orientated theme.

“[John] Smoltz, [Tom] Glavine and [Greg] Maddux when they were all pitching with the Braves. That was epic. I shot 62, 62 and lost money,” Woods revealed at the time.

Still, when asked who the very best golfer he’d played with was from the amateur world, he threw in another name alongside Smoltz.

“It’s either Smoltz or [Tony] Romo, they can both play good golf,” Woods added.

Tony Romo’s golf handicap

Tony Romo is well known as being one of the very best celeb golfers out there and his numbers back it up.

Over time, his handicap has reportedly been as high as +3.3, putting him above scratch and not that far off the level that professionals reach.

Of course, like any golfer, consistency is key and Romo probably lacks that little bit more that leads to people becoming PGA Tour players.

Nevertheless, if Tiger Woods is giving you the thumbs up, then you aren’t doing much wrong.
