Manchester United still have areas of their squad which require improvement.

Manchester United are closing in on their first signing of the January transfer window, with winger Alexis Sanchez set to join in a high-profile move from Arsenal.
Sanchez is poised to move to United for £30 million, as reported by The Telegraph, and, once that deal is done it will be intriguing to see who the club look to sign next, either this month or in the summer.
Here are three players that United should target, with Mourinho needing to bolster his defensive options.
Marquinhos

Despite having several options to call upon, United would still benefit from bringing in a standout centre-back who could provide the team with greater organisation and partner Eric Bailly.
Paris Saint-Germain star Marquinhos certainly falls into that category and, at the age of 23, the Brazilian would be able to develop further at United and make an impact for many years to come.
Ryan Sessegnon

Luke Shaw has recently re-established himself in the United side and will hope to continue as the club’s regular left-back.
However, Sessegnon is a potential star of the future and the 17-year-old would be an excellent option to provide cover for Shaw, while he can also operate as a left winger if required.
Ricardo Pereira

Antonio Valencia has been one of United’s best performers during Mourinho’s tenure so far, with the experienced right-back a very reliable player.
However, United need a new right-back who can compete with Valencia and potentially replace him, with Porto’s Ricardo Pereira, who has been impressive this season, one of the best options to consider in that regard.
