Celtic’s need for a right back has been well-documented of late, and new links have touted an international defender for a move to Parkhead.

Bhoys duo Mikael Lustig and Cristian Gamboa are both out of contract in the summer, and whilst Anthony Ralston has enjoyed a couple of strong performances, Brendan Rodgers needs another option.

Now, the Daily Mail report that Celtic want Atalanta ace Timothy Castagne, and could launch a £6million bid next month – a fee which would be major for the club, and their joint-second record signing.

Some Bhoys fans may not be too familiar with Castagne, so here are five facts to learn more about him…

1. Castagne came up through the ranks with Genk, and made his league debut for the club back in September 2014.

2. The right back earned a move to Atalanta in 2017 after impressing in Belgium, and he has made 13 appearances for the Serie A side this season.
