Leeds United are reportedly keen on Hoffenheim’s Steven Zuber.
Leeds United have lost two games in a row in the Championship, ever so slightly denting their automatic promotion bid.
The Whites are still in a superb position to finally return to the Premier League, but Marcelo Bielsa may want another couple of signings to bolster his squad.
Now, Bild report that Leeds want to land Hoffenheim ace Steven Zuber, with a January deal being targeted by the Whites.
Some fans may not be too familiar with Zuber, so here are five facts about Bielsa’s newest target…
1. Zuber 27, started out with Winterthur and Grasshopper in his native Switzerland, making more than 100 appearances for the latter.
2. 2013 saw Zuber head out to Russia with CSKA Moscow, but it wasn’t a happy stint; he played just 29 games before leaving after a year.
3. Zuber is now a regular for Hoffenheim, often featuring as a left wing back or left winger; that versatility may be ideal for Bielsa.
4. This past summer, Zuber played for Switzerland at the World Cup, and scored the equalising goal against Brazil in the 1-1 group stage draw.
5. In 2015, Zuber actually played against Leeds for Hoffenheim, and as noted by the club’s official Twitter account, scored against the Whites in a 2-1 win for the German side.
