Mikel Arteta was being compared to a former wrestler called Scott Steiner on Monday after his bizarre rant about the likelihood of his Arsenal team winning their last few games.
Things aren’t going well for Mikel Arteta or his Arsenal team on the football pitch at the moment, with questions now seriously being asked about if they can get relegated, and to make matters worse, he was widely mocked on social media on Monday.
Indeed, the Spaniard’s comments drew comparisons to a professional wrestler named Scott Steiner, which led to Steiner’s name trending on Twitter and Impact Wrestling getting involved in the joke.
Who is Scott Steiner?

Some Gunners fans may have been left scratching their heads after seeing Arteta compared to a man named Scott Steiner.
Steiner isn’t an ex-manager or an over-the-top pundit, he is in fact a former WWE and WCW wrestler who had a reputation for long, rambling, rants that made very little sense, including one that involved some rather questionable mathematics, hence the comparison to Arteta.
His 2008 promo about another wrestler named Samoa Joe and former Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle became something of a running joke amongst wrestling fans, and when you look at Arteta’s comments, it’s easy to see where the comparisons have come from.
Why are Impact Wrestling mocking Mikel Arteta?

Impact Wrestling, formerly known as TNA, even got involved in the joke, tweeting that the numbers spell disaster for Arteta, which is another reference to Steiner’s legendary rant.
The former WCW champion’s mathematical ramblings are best enjoyed by watching the promo, but when you read the full quote in all of its glory it doesn’t take long to understand why Arteta has been compared to him.
“See, normally if you go one on one with another wrestler, you got a 50/50 chance of winning. But I’m a genetic freak and I’m not normal! So you got a 25%, AT BEST, at beat me. Then you add Kurt Angle to the mix, your chances of winning drastic go down,
“See the 3 way at Sacrifice, you got a 33 1/3 chance of winning, but I, I got a 66 and 2/3 chance of winning, because Kurt Angle knows he can’t beat me and he’s not even gonna try!
“So Samoa Joe, you take your 33 1/3 chance, minus my 25% chance and you got an 8 1/3 chance of winning at Sacrifice. But then you take my 75% chance of winning, if we was to go one on one, and then add 66 2/3 per cents, I got 141 2/3 chance of winning at Sacrifice. See Joe, the numbers don’t lie, and they spell disaster for you at Sacrifice.”
Steiner is certainly no Aristotle when it comes to understanding how numbers work, claiming that he has a 141 and two thirds per cent chance of beating Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle, and if you’re Arteta, this certainly isn’t a man you want to be compared with.
