With social media, fans are now connected to people in ways that simply weren’t possible before, with apps like Twitter and Instagram allowing us to see into the lives of our sporting heroes.
Some use social media as diaries, others very sparingly, and the rest sort of float in-between. Generally, social media activity is rather restrictive at Nottingham Forest, but that hasn’t stopped some from turning it into a fine art.
Namely, Ben Osborn. While before he had Henri Lansbury to contend with, with Lansbury frequently posting hilarious Snapchat stories – on one occasion, taking Michael Mancienne’s car and parking it miles away – since his move to Aston Villa, Osborn has made the role his own.
While Osborn is renowned for his intelligence on the pitch, it would appear he’s a rather clever chap off it too, with a seemingly razor sharp sense of humour.

Exhibit A. While the world was going insane over Barcelona’s Champions League comeback over Paris Saint-Germain at the same time Manchester City drew with Stoke City in the Premier League, Osborn saw it as the perfect opportunity to tweet this:
