For every Sergio Aguero Manchester City have signed, there’s been a Wilfried Bony.

Things have never been the same at Manchester City since the club were taken over by the current owners back in 2008.

Now a team with incredible wealth, Manchester City have the ability to attract the world’s best to a club that was playing in the First Division back in 2002.

They now stand tall as one of the biggest clubs in world football, and have some of the greatest players like Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne, as well as a top class manager in Pep Guardiola.

However, for every megastar Manchester City have signed, there have been some, well, non megastars. Who do Manchester City fans think is the club’s biggest ever flop? HITC Sport’s Michael Ramsay found out.

When you have so much money at your disposal, there’s no way you are going to hit a goal with every new signing. And that’s what happened with Wilfried Bony.

The Ivory Coast international arrived at the Etihad Stadium in January 2015 for £28 million from Swansea City, but never hit the heights he achieved at the Welsh club, struggling to fit in and get back amongst the goals. Bony has since been shipped out on loan to Stoke City, where he has only just broken his scoring duck.

One of the club’s recent signings John Stones also came in for criticism, being branded a flop already by one fan so early in his Manchester City career.

From Jack Rodwell to Robinho, the Manchester City fans had a lot of options when naming their biggest ever flop.
