Josh Hart’s championship season has put his family back in the spotlight, especially his wife, Shannon Hart.

The New York Knicks guard has been with Shannon, formerly Shannon Phillips, since their teenage years in Washington, D.C. Their relationship began long before the bright lights of Madison Square Garden, the pressure of the NBA Finals and the Knicks’ first title since 1973.

They first met at Sidwell Friends School, stayed together through college and are now raising twin sons while Hart plays one of the most prominent roles of his career.

Who is Josh Hart’s wife Shannon Hart?

Shannon Hart is a registered nurse and former college soccer player. She began her playing career at Rutgers before transferring to the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and later earned nursing credentials through the University of Maryland School of Nursing.

Reports have linked her nursing work to orthopedics and sports medicine, a fitting field for someone with her athletic background.

Shannon is not someone who constantly chases the spotlight, but she is not entirely private either. She is active on Instagram, sharing glimpses of family life, including photos with Josh and their children, while maintaining a lower profile than many NBA partners.

Her support for Hart has been visible throughout his Knicks rise, especially during the team’s run to the championship, when family moments around the guard drew extra attention.

Josh and Shannon Hart built their love story from high school

Josh and Shannon reportedly met in 2010 at Sidwell Friends. One detail from their early days has become part of their story: Hart texted her as a teenager asking, “Do you like me?”

The relationship continued despite college distance and change. Shannon later told Vogue they were not always perfect, admitting: “We won’t lie, during college we had breakups. We were on and off”

The couple got engaged in 2020 and married in August 2021 in South Beach. In May 2023, they welcomed twin sons, Hendrix Aaron and Haze Dana.

Hart has described their personalities as different, calling himself more laid back while Shannon is more competitive. That balance has carried them from school to parenthood and now through an NBA title season.

Hart played a key role in the Knicks’ 2026 Finals win over the Spurs. In Game 5, he finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds as New York clinched the championship 94-90, ending a 53-year wait.
