Who is Jacqueline Gold? Some West Ham United supporters might be wondering that around now, following tragic news this afternoon.

The Hammers’ co-chairman, David Gold, has died at the age of 86 following a ‘short illness’, as reported by BBC Sport.

Gold and David Sullivan took over duties as joint-chairmen of West Ham United back in 2010.

According to The Sunday Times, the 62-year-old was worth a staggering £470 million as of 2019.

Jacqueline Gold is the Chief Executive of Gold Group International, Ann Summers and Knickerbox.

According to a 2021 article in The Sun, she ‘transformed’ Ann Summers by coming up with the Party Plan concept, having originally came aboard as a 19-year-old for admin work.

In 2010, the businesswoman – who has a sister, Vanessa – married Dan Cunningham and the couple have a daughter together, named Scarlett.

West Ham boss, David Moyes, said of her father’s passing today, via the club’s official website: “I am extremely sad to hear this news and, on behalf of all of the players and my staff at the training ground, I would like to extend our deepest sympathies to David Gold’s family at this very difficult time.”
