Emre Tezgel is a name on many people’s lips right now as the Stoke City wonderkid’s Championship debut beckons, after he rejected Leeds.
The Stoke Sentinel believe Leeds showed significant interest in signing the 17-year-old earlier this year, although he decided to commit his future to the Potters by signing a three-year professional contract.
According to Sky Sports, the teenager could even be in the squad to face Bristol City today.
So, who is Emre Tezgel? Let’s take a look…
Who is Emre Tezgel?
Well, if you haven’t already heard about Tezgel, we’re sure you will know all about him very soon.
The Potters No.37 made a name for himself in the Under-18 side at Stoke, scoring 19 goals in 34 appearances to attract attention from Leeds.
Tezgel has since scored six goals in 17 appearances for the Under-21 side, earning comparisons to Tottenham and England striker Harry Kane as a result of his stocky frame and superb finishing skills.

The youngster – who is of Turkish origin with roots in Aksaray through his father – has already made two appearances for Stoke’s first-team, with both coming in the FA Cup.
Tezgel is yet to make his Championship debut, but with Sky Sports claiming that he could be named in the squad by Alex Neil for the trip to Bristol City later today, he should make his bow in England’s second tier soon.
The Stoke prodigy was also named player of the tournament for England’s Under-17 side in the 2021 Syrenka Cup, scoring four goals in three games to help Tom Curtis’ side reach the final, where they suffered a 3-2 loss to the Netherlands.
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City all want to sign Tezgel.
