Liverpool teenager Carter Pinnington could be in the squad to face Sparta Prague this evening having been added to the Europa League squad.
The Reds already have one foot in the last eight of the Europa League after hammering Sparta Prague 5-1 away from home last week.
Liverpool should see the job through fairly comfortably back at Anfield but there are centre back issues for Jurgen Klopp to handle.
Ibrahima Konate and Joel Matip are both out injured right now, leaving Virgil van Dijk, Jarell Quansah and Joe Gomez as the only recognised centre backs.
Intriguingly, Liverpool have now added a young defender to their UEFA squad list ahead of tonight’s game.
UEFA’s official website shows teenager Carter Pinnington on the squad list, making him available to face Sparta if needed.
Amara Nallo is ineligible to be added and Liverpool may now be looking towards Pinnington instead.
Pinnington could be on the bench this evening, so here is some information about the Liverpool talent…

Who is Liverpool defender Carter Pinnington?
Pinnington predominantly plays as a centre back but has also been deployed as a defensive midfield player in the past.
Hailing from nearby Bebington, Pinnington has been a regular in the Liverpool ranks and was handed an Under-18 debut at the age of just 15 last season.
Now 17, Pinnington has been a regular in Premier League 2 this season and has featured for the England Under-16’s.
Pinnington only turned 17 in February but has role in the Liverpool ranks just goes to show how highly-rated he is at Anfield.
The surprise is that Pinnington hasn’t been spotted in first-team training this week but his addition to the squad list has raised eyebrows.
Pinnington was hailed as ‘absolutely terrific’ by Liverpool reporter Neil Jones early this season and ‘dominant in the air’ by Liverpool academy reporter Lewis Bower.
Klopp may well have spotted something in Pinnington and with Liverpool’s youngsters thriving in recent weeks, the teenage centre back could be next for a spot in the Reds squad.
