Liverpool’s academy duo, Ryan Kent and Harry Wilson enjoyed successful loans away from the Merseyside club last season.

Whilst all the attention, and rightly so, was towards Liverpool lifting the Champions League trophy last season, two success stories were brewing in the Midlands and in Glasgow.

Liverpool’s academy products Ryan Kent and Harry Wilson were on-loan at Rangers and Derby, respectively, with the attacking duo leaving their marks on the club.

The attacking duo have been part of Jurgen Klopp’s pre-season plans, but who has the brighter future at Anfield?

Recently Goal reported that Liverpool value Kent at £12 million as the direct winger is attracting the interest of Championship clubs, as well as a certain Scottish Premiership side.

Added with that, the Daily Mail claimed that the Reds could potentially cash in on Wales international Wilson for £21 million this summer.

If the reported prices are anything to go by then Wilson is clearly rated high, and truthfully, he may just be the likely one out of the two to break into Klopp’s squad.

Whilst Kent’s directness, pace and ability on the counter-attack can hurt the opposition, it does seem as though Wilson has a lot more all-round abilities in his locker.

It could be argued that technically Wilson is better than Kent, his ability to pick out a pass, his dead-ball threats and he can control a game better.

Both would be great assets to Klopp ahead of the new Premier League season because with such a thin squad, the German is looking for attacking threat from the bench, and they may well just provide it in their own unique ways.
