Who does Wout Faes support? Many have asked this on Google after the £15m man scored two own goals against Liverpool last night.
The Belgium international endured a nightmarish evening at Anfield on Friday as he put the ball beyond Danny Ward twice to ensure Liverpool beat Leicester by a 2-1 scoreline.
It was a difficult way for the 24-year-old to end 2022, as he has actually been quite impressive in England so far, keeping six clean sheets in ten Premier League appearances.
So, who does Wout Faes support? Let’s take a look…
Who does Wout Faes support?
Well, the conspiracy theorists out there will enjoy this – Faes is actually a Liverpool fan.
Back in 2019, the Belgian said: “I’ve been a real supporter of Liverpool since I was a child. I’ve been a few times and when you go to Anfield, it gives you goosebumps.”
With that in mind, it must have been painful for Faes to hear those inside Anfield yell “shoot” in his direction every time he received the ball last night, following his two own goals in the opening 45 minutes.

The Leicester No.3 horribly sliced his attempted clearance in the 38th minute to hand Liverpool an equaliser, watching the ball loop over Ward after Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall gave Leicester the lead inside five minutes.
Faes then failed to get his body out of the way in the 45th minute, after a chip from Darwin Nunez hit the post and rebounded off the defender into the back of the net.
Despite an impressive second-half display from Leicester and Faes, the Foxes couldn’t get themselves back into the game, and remain 13th in the Premier League at the time of writing.
Wout Faes own goals
You can see both of the Belgian’s own goals below.
The first one is simply poor defending, although we feel sorry for Faes in regards to the second own goal, as there wasn’t much he could do about it – he barely had any time to react.
Wout Faes pronunciation
Many have also asked how to pronounce the Leicester No.3’s name.
Well, Leicester actually got Faes to explain it for himself on their official Twitter account, as you can see below.
Clearly, the Liverpool fan’s name is pronounced like ‘wowt faz’.
