Richard Keys has slammed the arrogance of former Leeds United manager, Jesse Marsch, after he seemingly turned down the chance to become Leicester City’s next manager.
Prior to ex-Aston Villa boss Dean Smith replacing Brendan Rodgers at the relegation-threatened side, it was suggested that Jesse Marsch was wanted for that role.
But just like the previously vacant role at Southampton, the American turned down the gig, with Richard Keys suggesting that it happened because he doesn’t want to work in the Championship.

The Foxes are sitting in the Premier League’s relegation zone, and just like Leeds United, they are in a nine-way battle to try and survive in the Premier League this term.
Leeds themselves had their troubles on Sunday, when they were thrashed by Crystal Palace 5-1 at Elland Road, but it’s not as bad as Leicester, who haven’t won a game since February.
Whatever the reason behind Marsch not taking the Leicester gig, it hasn’t sat down well with outspoken presenter and beIN SPORTS host, Richard Keys, as he wrote in his personal blog.
“I must be missing something,” said Keys. “Jesse Marsch is obviously a much better coach than I’ve given him credit for. And I’ve been a keen supporter of his.
“He deserved great credit for keeping Leeds in the PL last season – and I said as much then. I still believe they’d have gone down if Bielsa had stayed in charge. Marsch made many friends at Elland Road. I’m told the players thought he was a really nice guy – but, in the end, they just couldn’t work out what he wanted from them.
“But. I’d love it if someone would explain to me how it is that a man, recently sacked by a club battling for their PL lives, has the temerity to turn down two offers to stay in England and continue to work in the PL? Marsch must really rate himself – and I’m quoting from what I’ve read – Marsch didn’t want to work in the C’ship next season.
“What? Again – surely this modern-day super coach would’ve kept them up? And if he hadn’t – what’s wrong with working in the C’ship? Who does he think he is? Maybe he’s had a call from that lunatic Boehly telling him to hold off because he’s in line to replace Lampard? Seriously. What is Marsch waiting for? I don’t see him getting another offer to work in the PL.”

WILL MARSCH WORK IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE AGAIN?
Given the crazy nature in which managers are being sacked, the answer to that question is probably yes.
Come next season, it wouldn’t be a surprise if there is another traffic jam to avoid the drop in England’s top flight, and if that happens, then panic will set in.
Unless Marsch takes a gig elsewhere, his name will probably pop up, but he needs to remember, whilst he kept the Whites up, in the end, with a much better squad than what Marcelo Bielsa had, he only took them backwards after helping them survive.
