Glasgow Rangers may be winning but not all their players are impressing the supporters.

Rangers continued their impressive run under interim boss Graeme Murty, running out 2-1 winners against Ross County to temporarily cut the gap between the Gers and league leaders Celtic to just four points.

Rangers won courtesy of goals from Alfredo Morelos and Danny Wilson, yet not all the starting XI were praised after the final whistle, with summer signing Carlos Pena and veteran Kenny Miller both getting their fair share of belters both from the stands and on social media.

But between the two, Miller surely deserves more of the criticism, even if he is pushing 40.

Pena has quickly been branded a flop by his harshest critics, with some going so far as to suggest he is one of the worst players to ever pull on a Rangers shirt. Yet he has scored five goals in 12 games this season and – until the game against Ross – he looked to be blossoming into a fine option under Murty.

In contrast Miller has managed just four goals in 17 games and his performances this season have rarely been anything to write home about.

It is one thing being passionate about the club you play for, and quite another performing effectively on a regular basis, so 37-year-old Miller cannot rely on history alone.

Pena will know he has work to do, but he has shown what he is capable of and should improve in time. Miller is already well past his peak and, of the two Rangers men, it is the veteran who deserves to be taking the majority of the slack.
