Celtic have discovered their opponents for the Round of 32 of the UEFA Europa Conference League, with the Hoops facing off against Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt.

Ange Postecoglou’s side dropped out of the UEFA Europa League after finishing third in a relatively difficult group for the Scottish giants. However, with the introduction of the Europa Conference League, Celtic have a second chance of European success this season.

And the Hoops will take on Bodo/Glimt, a side from Norway who in the past few seasons have enjoyed a meteoric rise in both the Scandinavian country and Europe.

The Eliteserien club were only promoted to the top-flight in 2018 for the first time in their history. And since then, Bodo/Glimt have been one of the best clubs in Norway, finishing second in the 2019 season and winning the title in the past two years.

Indeed, Bodo/Glimt famously beat Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma side this season in the Europa Conference League 6-1, meaning Celtic are by no means in for an easy tie.

And with the Hoops’ record of losing to Scandinavian clubs in Europe, history could well repeat itself in February when Celtic face off against Bodo/Glimt, who will be eager for another giant-killing.

However, with football in Norway now on hold until March, a lack of action could play into Celtic’s hands with the Scottish side now able to completely focus on domestic football.

Celtic fans clueless on who Bodo/Glimt are
